Privacy Policy
What we collect and why
- Location: used to fetch the forecast for a place you search or, with your permission, your device position. Coordinates are sent to weather and geocoding providers to answer your request. Anga does not request background location.
- Saved places, history, and preferences: stored on your device. If backend sync is available or you sign in, favorites, recent searches, units, theme, appearance palette, alert preferences, and optional zodiac sign sync to Oracle Cloud so they can follow you across devices.
- Account identity: sign-in is handled by Auth0. Anga stores the account identifier and email needed to connect your saved app data to your account.
- Notifications: if you enable severe-weather notifications, Anga stores the browser push subscription and watched favorite places needed to deliver alerts. You can turn notifications off from Alerts.
- Anga Intelligence: when AI features are enabled, Anga sends a bounded weather summary, coarse forecast coordinates, your selected units, optional zodiac sign, and any question you submit to Anthropic. Anga does not send your Auth0 identifier, email, saved-place labels, push subscription, or precise device location as part of an AI prompt.
- Travel context: when you open Map or plan a trip, route endpoints and nearby-place coordinates may be sent to OpenStreetMap, RainViewer, Windy, Transitland, or OSRM to render the selected map layer or find stops, departures, and supported non-transit routes. Transit navigation is handed off to the map provider you choose when Anga cannot provide a verified route.
- Payments and subscriptions: Anga does not currently sell subscriptions or collect payment information. If paid features are introduced later, store billing providers or a payment processor will handle payment details and this policy will be updated before launch.
- No advertising, no analytics trackers, no sale of data.
Third-party services
- Open-Meteo - forecasts, geocoding, and air quality (weather data by Open-Meteo.com, CC BY 4.0).
- US National Weather Service - severe weather alerts for US locations.
- Kenya Meteorological Department - official CAP weather warnings for Kenyan locations.
- Nominatim - reverse geocoding (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL).
- RainViewer, Windy, and OpenStreetMap - observed radar, forecast weather maps, and base-map layers loaded only when Map is opened.
- Transitland and OSRM - nearby departures and supported walking, biking, or driving routes.
- Anthropic - optional AI-generated summaries and answers based on bounded weather context.

Retention and deletion
Server-synced data is kept while your Anga account exists or while an anonymous device profile remains active. You can export synced data from Settings → Account, and permanently delete your account and synced Anga app data from the same section. If you cannot access the app, use the data deletion request page. Local device data can be cleared from your browser or OS settings at any time.
Children
Anga Weather is a general-audience weather app and is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account if you are not old enough to use online services in your region.

Preparation plans and observations
Your preparation needs, task completion and unverified observation notebook are stored in this browser on this device. They are not submitted to authorities or published to other users. Records are bounded to 150 task completions and 50 observations. Use Settings to export the current situation brief or clear local preparation data. Signing out or deleting your account also clears this local preparation data. Do not include other people's names, contact details or sensitive information in notes.
When you choose Ask ANGA, your selected role and preparation needs are included with your question and forecast context to provide a relevant answer. Notebook observations and completed tasks are not included in that AI request.
