Privacy Policy
What we collect and why
- Location: used to fetch the forecast for a place you search or, with your permission, your device position. Coordinates are sent to weather and geocoding providers to answer your request. Anga does not request background location.
- Saved places, history, and preferences: stored on your device. If backend sync is available or you sign in, favorites, recent searches, units, theme, appearance palette, alert preferences, and optional zodiac sign sync to Oracle Cloud so they can follow you across devices.
- Account identity: sign-in is handled by Auth0. Anga stores the account identifier and email needed to connect your saved app data to your account.
- Notifications: if you enable severe-weather notifications, Anga stores the browser push subscription and watched favorite places needed to deliver alerts. You can turn notifications off from Profile.
- Payments and subscriptions: Anga does not currently sell subscriptions or collect payment information. If paid features are introduced later, store billing providers or a payment processor will handle payment details and this policy will be updated before launch.
- No advertising, no analytics trackers, no sale of data.
Third-party services
- Open-Meteo - forecasts, geocoding, and air quality (weather data by Open-Meteo.com, CC BY 4.0).
- US National Weather Service - severe weather alerts for US locations.
- Nominatim - reverse geocoding (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL).
- RainViewer and OpenStreetMap - radar and map layers.
- Auth0 - sign-in. See their privacy documentation for processing details.
Retention and deletion
Server-synced data is kept while your Anga account exists or while an anonymous device profile remains active. You can export synced data from Profile → Export, and permanently delete your account and synced Anga app data from Profile → Delete. If you cannot access the app, use the data deletion request page. Local device data can be cleared from your browser or OS settings at any time.
Children
Anga Weather is a general-audience weather app and is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account if you are not old enough to use online services in your region.
